     As a communications major with a strong interest in marketing, I have realized how strong of a role social media plays in that role. Social media plays a strong role in the world we live in today and can be a big selling point for many businesses promoting their work and products. Advertisements are there to promote products to a target audience. Often times a social media page is the first thing a customer sees when researching a product, or reviewing a businesses page and what they have to offer. I learned a lot about the importance of being able to track the amount or likes, comments, and interaction a post is getting. This chapter went a lot into detail about the analytical side of interaction on posts. A company has a positive outcome when their social media posts is receiving a lot of likes, comments, shares, and follows. A company that is suffering negative will not gain positive feedback which can result in poor interaction on the companies social media post as a whole. This is why it is important to have an effective ,marketing plan and strategy in order to grow a companies social media page and have more engagement of upcoming posts. With all that being said, the more you as a customer engage with certain posts the more types of similar posts you will see on all different platforms. While it can be alarming and almost like an invasion of privacy to some, it is a good way for businesses to get promoted. I personally think its helpful because I learn about new businesses and products everyday just by scrolling on my phone. The Internet is a scary place and the hard truth is that there are many hackers that can gather information and hurt you or the businesses you are taking interest in.
