       As a communications major with a strong interest in marketing, I have realized how strong of a role social media plays in that role. Social media plays a strong role in the world we live in today and can be a big selling point for many businesses promoting their work and products. Advertisements are there to promote products to a target audience. Often times a social media page is the first thing a customer sees when researching a product, or reviewing a businesses page and what they have to offer. I learned a lot about the importance of being able to track the amount or likes, comments, and interaction a post is getting. This chapter went a lot into detail about the analytical side of interaction on posts. Assignment 3

       Throughout the past four days I have been monitoring my apps and understanding what apps I use the most. I already had a guess as to what my most used apps were which included TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and Snapchat. TikTok is my most used app on my phone, as I usually gravitate towards that during my free time for entertainment.       Over the past 4 days I averaged 3 hours and 32 minutes per day just on TikTok. Pretty eye opening to how much time I am spending on my phone. Instagram was my second most used app which averaged 2 hours and 4 minutes per day. My third most used app was Snapchat which averaged 3 hours and 35 minutes per day over the past 4 days.       I don't have a preference in what tools I am using these platforms on because I don't find myself searching for videos or anything all that much. We Are Data Response: LJ2

 After reading the section titled We Are Data, it made me realize how much information is actually put onto the internet that many people may not even be aware of. There is a lot of discussion on self-identity and how much data can be shared about yourself that everyone has access to. I think it is important to keep in mind that not everything you see on the internet is true and accurate, and many times it can be far from the truth. People can be extremely judgmental and can perceive you in a way that can be either positive or negative. Many assumptions can be made simply through a selfie, or a picture you post with your friends.  Media and social networking plays a large role in the world we live in today especially at this day and age. Media refers to the heart of communication in relation to broadcasting, internet usage, news, printed media, etc. Social networking relates to apps, and different platforms that allow users to connect, communicate, and exchange information from one user to another. My most used social networking sites include Instagram, Facebook, and Snapchat. Another one that I use that has significant importance is Linkedin. Instagram is a social networking platform used to post pictures about your daily life, or even to promote products and businesses. Social Media Thoughts: LJ1

 Social media is a big part of the world we live in today. Some of the biggest platforms include Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, and Facebook. When I'm posting on these platforms, one thing I always keep in mind is once you post something on the internet, it is there forever. I personally do not post things that I wouldn't want my family seeing, or my boss at work seeing. I enjoy posting pictures of my daily activities, and favorite vacation spots. I also do not leave my accounts on public. I prefer to keep them on private as there are so many people in this world that can access your own personal information just through your Instagram profile. I fell as if what I post now and what I used to post has stayed the same. One thing that has changed is when I was younger I posted more selfies compared the amount of selfies I post now.  Hi guys! My name is Ashlyn Martin. I was born and raised here in Tampa, Florida. I currently live about 20 minutes from campus with my friends. I am a senior here at USF majoring in Mass Communications. I love to travel in my free time. Some of my favorite places have been Spain, and Ireland. I also recently just adopted a puppy! His name is Oakley, a two month old lab mix. I also love going to the beach in my free time! I work as a sales associate at Nordstrom and I love making new customer connections and helping people find outfits. My favorite social media outlet is TikTok! I love seeing everyones creativity through the platform and all the different types of videos people come up with. I have made a blog before in a previous social media class but I no longer post on it. I don't have much experience reading blogs but I look forward to learning and growing this semester!
